In my X-term, the Alt key acts as a true Meta key, so characters are
returned with the high bit set. getch() fails on any character with
the high bit set, so it won't let me use the Alt key.
I don't see anything in read_a_char that's causing failure, but I'm not
very familiar with Icon source. I'd like to change Icon, not X-windows or
X-term.
read(), of course, gets meta characters just fine.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
Kurt Welgehausen
